At Springfield FC, we believe that fostering a strong sense of community and support is essential to the success of our team and players. As we prepare for the 2025 USL2 season, we are excited to introduce our Host Family Program. This program provides players with a home away from home during the season and offers local families the unique opportunity to become an integral part of the team’s journey.
What is the Host Family Program?
The Host Family Program connects Springfield FC players with local families who will provide them with a place to stay during the season (from May to July). Host families play a vital role in the player’s experience, helping them feel welcome, supported, and focused on their training and performance.

Unique Experience: Enjoy the opportunity to interact with and learn from young athletes pursuing their dreams in soccer.
Exclusive Access: Host families will receive free tickets to Springfield FC home games and special team events.
Responsibilities of Host Families
As a host family, your primary role is to provide a safe, supportive, and comfortable environment for your player during the season. This includes:
Room and Board: Providing a private or shared room with access to basic amenities (e.g., bed, dresser, bathroom).
Meals: If the host family chooses to provide meals, home-cooked meals are always appreciated but not necessary to become a host family. Providing the player with the opportunity to prepare their own meals is also encouraged.
Transportation: Although we don’t expect the host families to be providing transportation for the players, a ride may occasionally be needed. Springfield FC will be primarily responsible for arranging the player’s transportation needs should the need arise.
Communication: Keeping in touch with Springfield FC staff to provide feedback on the player’s adjustment and well-being.
Requirements for Host Families
Background Check: All host families will undergo a background check to ensure safety and suitability.
Safe Environment: The host home must be a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for the player.
Availability: Host families must be able to accommodate players for the duration of the season (May – July).
Communication: Open communication between the family and the team is essential for a successful experience.
What Springfield FC Provides
Team Activities: Season tickets for up to five family members for Springfield FC home games and exclusive team events.
Ongoing Support: Offering continuous assistance throughout the season, addressing any concerns or questions from host families.
Communication: Maintaining open lines of communication with host families to ensure players are adjusting well and to address any needs that arise.
Player Support: Ensuring that players are well-prepared for their experience and are provided with guidance throughout the season.
